How do carnivorous plants adapt to their environment?

Carnivorous plants are especially adapted to growing in bogs, marshes, and similar environments. The soils in such places is usually very low in the amount of minerals and other nutrients needed to produce healthy plants. Since the soil is poor, the carnivorous plants have evolved to be able to lure, capture, and digest insects to supply themselves with iron, proteins, and other nutrients, most notably, nitrogen and phosphorus.
Over the course of evolution, the carnivorous plants have adapted to their environment by developing leaves that can also serve as traps that secrete enzymes or bacteria to help digest their prey. Substances in the plant that were originally protections against disease, evolved into enzymes such as chitinase, which disintegrates insect exoskeletons, and purple acid phosphatase, which allows the plant to extract phosphorus from insect bodies. The plants also give off a scent that insects find attractive, so that they are lured to explore the plant so that they can be captured for food.

Pros:
IVF can help couples overcome fertility issues. The inability of many couples to have children can often induce feelings of worthlessness and low self-esteem. Giving such couples the chance to conceive overcomes those feelings and the depressive illnesses often associated with them.
IVF can be incredibly helpful to those who have traditionally worried about passing on a variety of genetic conditions to their children. Embryos can be screened in a laboratory, and any defective genes can be readily identified, providing peace of mind to prospective parents.
IVF is an effective method for dealing with male infertility, the cause of approximately 40% of couples needing to seek assistance with conception. This is because IVF treatment places the sperm and the egg in close proximity to each other, helping to facilitate successful fertilization.
IVF is the only available method for conception when the fallopian tubes are blocked. IVF treatment effectively works around the blocked tubes by taking the eggs from the ovaries and implanting the embryo directly into the uterus.
Cons:
The costs of treatment can be unduly prohibitive, especially in the United States where most health insurance plans do not cover IVF.
IVF can sometimes lead to certain medical complications. For instance, taking the relevant medication can lead to a condition known as Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome. This can cause the ovaries to swell, leading in turn to severe abdominal pain.
Ectopic pregnancies can often result from IVF treatment. An ectopic pregnancy is one in which the embryo implants outside the uterus. As the embryo is not properly implanted, the pregnancy cannot continue.
Women who conceive with IVF are at greater risk of premature birth. Preterm births, those defined as taking place before a baby is 37 weeks old, are associated with low birth weight and conditions such as poor lung function.
